Bit slow on updating but I wanted to complete my rotation before I posted.
Hope you have all had a nice Easter.
This one is one of my UFOs I intend to finish this year. It's Teresa Wentzler's Tapestry Cat. I started it years ago after searching high and low for a cross stitch chart with a Birman cat on like my lovely cat Dot.
I found this one but it was discontinued but this was no problem with ebay!! I seem to remember taking it off to do a wedding sampler for my brother and sister in law - which they wed in 2007!!! Yikes this really has been sitting waiting to be completed for ages! It has been out on a few occasions over the years and has always come up against things that needed doing sooner like the wedding sampler but was never meant to be a UFO at all.
This is where it was when I picked it up
Every time I have got this out I have actually been surprised with how much has been done more than I remember each time. The only thing with UFOs I think is trying to find where you left off with it all. But I have loved every minute I have spent on this one.
So here's where I have got up to
Maybe doesn't look much but I have been working on the fill of the borders. There are some really lovely things about this design I love the eyes and they look so good as they are worked one over one where the rest of the stitching is two over two. This gives them such depth.
The other things is that a lot of the colours are tweeded using a strand of each colour mixed this gives interesting colour mixes and blending. This was the first design I encountered this on. I love the border on this as well.
So all in all I'm really happy with getting some stitching done on this one and think maybe this rotation malarkey is going to work out after all. I'm thinking I'll be working back on the JE Motherly Devotion next I can always expand the rotation from there but I'll take it slow I think 3 is enough for now.
Vince has decided walking is the way forward now so I have a little Frankenstein bumbling about the house now instead of clinging to furniture lol. This week we got the craft stuff out again and have made a decorated egg....Which won an prize at church!!!!
Vincent actually did all the painting on this himself, so I was super proud. He's getting the idea of what to do and didn't try and eat any paint this time!!! I used to love doing all the little craft projects like this when I was young - bet you couldn't tell - and who am I kidding I still love doing stuff like this lol.
Oh and later today I get to go and find out if number 2 is pink or blue and how they are growing - excited - just a bit!!!
Keep stitching...

Progress, WIPocalypse and plans oh my!
I've been plugging away at things nicely. I've maybe not had as much time this week as last but I've been on sorting my son's stuff for his party tomorrow and his birthday on Tuesday. I can't believe my little boy is going to be 1 year old - I even got proper choked up buying him his first birthday card!
I've also been thinking - influenced by other blogs about trying to start a rotation otherwise I think that I'm going to drowned in this pile of Crazy January starts and not even get to anything I set out for WIPocalypse both of which I started to help increase productivity not hinder lol.
So I started Thursday - I'll still work with Motherly Devotion then I'm going to see if I can tear myself away and I think next I will pick up one off my WIPocalypse list either Starry Night or Tapestry Cat which has been a UFO that was never meant to be and has been lurking for too many years now.
Anyway here's this weeks progress on Motherly Devotion
Yipee some colours!!! Baby Jesus is complete bar his halo but I prefer to do the Kreinik at the end of the X stitch. I think once the collar and cuffs are done I'm going to do Mary's head. Then I'll have probably switched project provided I don't get cold feet lol.
I've also managed to sort getting into blogger on my mobile which means I can keep up to date with everyone's blogs better as most of the time I don't get much chance to get near the laptop - hubby hogs it all evening lol! Only thing is it doesn't seem to let me comment so I'll have to just do those as I manage to snag some computer time.
Well I've got a busy few days coming up starting with getting off here and tidying up Vincent has got Nanna, Grandpa and Auntie Lottie (my folks) coming to visit today!! Which kicks off his birthday celebrations, party tomorrow, then we're thinking of taking him to the local sealife centre on Sunday cos I'm at work on his birthday day boo. But hubby took the day off so I'm sure they'll find something to get up to. So I'll be on a squeeze to fit in some lovely XX's but I'm sure in my current stitchy zone I'll make some time!
Have a lovely week.

Busy times and SAL sign ups
I've been having a busy few weeks the last few, with being back to work, sorting Christmas shopping and other festive goings on. So stitching has been on the back burner but I'm really hoping to knuckle down soon. I haven't really had time for much blog hopping but got caught back up last night and realised I'd missed you guys!! Here's my meagre progress for the last week on Starry Night.
I've been still sorting through and looking at challenges for next year and I couldn't decide what I want to stitch next, I have so many I want to do. So in blog hopping I saw Xeihua (Sara)'s post about all the SAL's she is joining and got me thinking.
So I've joined the Crazy January challenge join here starting 15 means I don't have to decide what to stitch so much as just make a start on it all.
I'd already signed up for TUSAL join here as this was the first SAL I encountered in my new web stitchy world.
I'm also going to sign up to WIPocalypse join here so that I can add the Starry Night my current WIP to the 15 and also I want to get a UFO that was never meant to be a UFO out.
I'm going to have to get organised over the next few weeks and work out a system for it all
Phew that's enough planning I need a rest and get some stitching done lol
Keep stitching...
